CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness.
So what is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a workout program involving constantly varied functional movements at high level of intensity.
What does it mean? It means that rather than training muscles in isolation like one does at a regular gym, we instead use movements that make the entire body work as a single unit. Functional movements mirror how humans were meant to move in regular life: picking objects up, putting them on a shelf, walking up the stairs, etc... These movements will not only make you stronger, but as they require using several muscle groups at the same time, they will also improve your balance and coordination.
These movements are then mixed into an infinite number of combinations, which results in never doing the same workout twice. You'll never get bored, you'll always work hard, and you'll see constant progress.
More specifically, CrossFit is the fitness methodology used by many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. It is also being implemented in nursing homes, pre-schools, and physical therapy. In short, people from every walk of life are using CrossFit. This is because CrossFit is infinitely scalable which means it is appropriate for any age as well as any fitness level. Children, housewives, Olympic athletes, and grandparents will all follow the same program, but at their own level and pace. The needs of our members differ by degree, not kind.
