Gym Rules

Here are a few gym rules we adhere to at CrossFit Expressions, that best reflect our gym’s culture and allows us to foster a fun, safe, clean, and respectful training environment for everyone in our community. This list is hardly all-inclusive, but it pretty much comes down to safety, common courtesy, and respect for others and our equipment.

Respect others (coaches and athletes), be responsible.

Don’t suffer in silence. If you are injured, please let us know before the workout. Remember we can scale and modify any movement! But only you know how your body feels.

Be aware of your surroundings. There are heavy objects being lifted, swung and thrown. Watch where you are going and listen to what is going on around you.

Be on time. Please be ready for class when it starts. We understand that life gets in the way and things happen. We won’t judge you if you show up a few minutes late once in a while. However, occasional tardiness will be rewarded with a burpee warm-up.
Athletes who are 15 minutes late are welcome to bike or row but will not be accepted in class. (This doesn’t mean athletes can constantly arrive 10 minutes late, the coach always has final say.)  

Ask First. Additional training/stretches prior to or after class is welcome and encouraged but please always clear it with the coach first.

Treat your equipment with respect. Do not drop dumbbells, kettlebells or barbells. Weights should only be dumped for safety purposes and out of necessity.

Clean after yourself and Put gear back in place. Wipe equipment/floor, throw garbage away (tissue paper, wipes, cups…) and put equipment away.

Keep chalk in bucket. Chalk works best on your hands, not everywhere on the floor. Keep your hands in the bucket while dusting them off.

Keep your kids and everyone else safe. Please make sure your kids stay away from the gym equipment at all times and off the gym floor during classes.
